Meet huband and wife team Joe and Danielle. Chef Joe was born and raised in Connecticut, home of the legendary New Haven pizza parlours Frank Pepe's and Sally's (Joe even had the secret phone number to Sally's - IYKYK!) Danielle is an Aussie designer who wined, dined, and designed her way through the States for over a decade. Their passion for food and hospitality led to the creation of their upstate New York boutique bed & breakfast River Street Social, before making the big move to Australia to start their new venture Polpetta, in Gerringong NSW. "The word sounds fancy - Polpetta! - but it means meatball... so it's really not fancy at all!" Danielle laughs. "We wanted to open a comfy, real neighbourhood Italian place, like the New York style red sauce joints we were used to back in the States," chimes in Joe. "Plus I really just wanted a decent slice for lunch!"
